5 Star ReviewFor a long time I had wanted to start regularly exercising knowing the added benefit of becoming fitter, having more energy with the bonus of potentially losing some weight. I chose Chris Sheridan PT as he had been recommended by the local gym I had been previously attending. I felt online training would suit me better due to my previous experience of attending the gym. When previously the gym I lacked the consistency and often made excuses to cancel a class. I think that was due to the fact I felt self conscious and wasn't really sure how to go about using the equipment.I felt quite nervous before I signed up. I was aware my previous attempts had been short lived. My job involves shift work and I was worried I would find excuses not to 'make time' or get the sessions in as I move between day and night shifts. After the initial meeting with Chris I felt alot more reassured. Chris is very flexible in that he does his best to tailor workouts to fit individual schedules and he offers support and advice in how best to incorporate exercising into your routine. On weeks where I felt I wasn't making progress or hadn't achieved what I had set out, Chris acknowledged what I had achieved and suggested a way to combat this issues and plan to overcome this hurdles again. Chris doesn't blame or make you feel guilty, he acknowledges the struggles and collaboratively helps you to overcome them. Chris acts as a great motivator which is something I felt that I needed.Surprisingly I'm enjoying the process! I feel like I have more energy when completing the workouts sessions in comparison to when I first started. I also get a great feeling of satisfaction once I have finished a session. My colleagues have noticed I have lost some weight and that also gives me confidence and the drive to continue. The fact that you don't need alot of fancy equipment to achieve results was something that surprised me. I used a skipping rope, resistance band and a kettle bell and Chris has given me a variety of different exercises that can be done using them.I knew that diet played a role in exercising and weight loss and had presumed that calorie counting was going to be something heavily incorporated in the process. I had mentioned to Chris I found the idea or calorie counting and dieting daunting. I didn't want to feel restricted in my food choices and have to eliminate certain things from my diet. Chris explained in simple terms the importance of incorporating adequate amounts of protein fats and carbohydrates into my meals, using a simplified visual version of appropriate meal sizes. Chris showed me that there are numerous ways to monitor your dietary intake that doesn't always have to revolve around scales or numbers and this was a method that really worked for meAt the start of the journey with Chris we aimed to achieve 10 thousand steps daily and 3 work out sessions. Sometimes I find this difficult to achieve, perhaps due to work schedule or the weather. However I go back to the mantra that Chris says something is better than nothing and then reset and aim to achieve the steps the next day.My mentality has changed, exercising or the idea of exercising no longer feels like a chore it's something I incorporate into my daily plans.Chris is helpful and supportive. His friendly approach makes it an environment that is non-judgemental and you know he genuinely wants to help you long your journey to achieve your goals. He acknowledges the struggles as well as achievements and always ask for feedback to help improve his service.I would highly recommend Chris to help anyone looking for some direction on their health and fitness journey!
